Practitioners

Under the leadership of Beaverton chiropractor Dr. Kathy Cantwell, our clinic is founded on treating the whole body as a complex integrated system, not a collection of parts. It is our mission to unite your body and your wellness. We make use of many different types of non-invasive care as part of our commitment to holistic healing and comprehensive wellness care. This range of treatment options enables us to address multiple issues and symptoms, from joint stiffness and acute pain to nerve dysfunction and systemic illnesses. We treat each patient as an individual, prescribing the right combination of treatment methods for that individual's specific needs. Here is some information about our practitioners and what they can do for you:

  • Kathryn Cantwell, DC, DICCP, CSP, CSCP
    DOCTOR OF CHIROPRACTIC

With a lifelong interest in holistic medicine, Kathy Cantwell knew from an early age that helping patients achieve their optimal health was her calling. To that end, she obtained her Doctorate in Chiropractic at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR, before establishing a multi-disciplinary clinic in the Chicago suburbs that she successfully operated for over 2 decades. Over the years, Dr. Kathy has helped thousands of patients avoid back and neck surgery through diversified full spine adjusting and cranial adjusting.

Other certifications and special interests include:

    • Pregnancy and neonatal care
      — Pediatric Diplomate since 1996
      — Webster certified
    • Concussions and sports injuries
    • Certified SOT practitioner
    • Certified Cranial SOT practitioner
    • TMJ care

Dr. Kathy’s philosophy is to treat the body as a whole, rather than individual parts—this was the inspiration behind the clinic’s name, Unity Chiropractic, and Wellness Center. This outlook is also what led her to study nutrition extensively, and she is skilled at using neurological nutrition to treat specific disorders. When Dr. Kathy isn’t at the office, she likes to relax by cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, 5 children, and cat Milo.

  • Jessie Garrison, DC
    Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Jessie grew up mostly in sunny San Diego, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Human Biology from the University of California San Diego. She then moved to Oregon to pursue her Doctorate of Chiropractic at University of Western States, where she graduated in 2015. She has furthered her education to become Webster certified to aid in treating people throughout pregnancy. In addition she is currently training with the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) to further her education and expertise in treating newborns and young children and to get her CACCP.

'It is a dream come true to be able to keep children’s spines and nervous systems healthy from the time they are in utero, as newborns, and then throughout their life. I love being able to educate people on how to have the best possible quality of life. I consider treatment and regaining proper spinal function equally as important as educating children about language. Having optimum health and giving them a better understanding of how their bodies function is vital.'

Dr. Jessie's passion may lie in expectant parents and children, but she has multiple years of experience working with all ages treating many chronic conditions as well as acute injuries to the neck, back, pelvis, and extremities.

In her free time, Dr. Jessie enjoys the great outdoors and spending time with her 2 sons, 1 daughter and her husband. She looks forward to meeting you and your family!
